What's in a pipe and drape kit?
Every complete kit includes the four parts of a pipe and drape system, matched to size:
- Uprights — telescopic poles set to the kit's height range
- Base plates — weighted steel feet sized to keep the setup stable
- Crossbars (drape supports) — telescoping bars that carry the drape across each section
- Drape — flame-retardant Velvet Napoli panels in your chosen color
Because the parts are matched at the factory, there is no compatibility guesswork — it goes together, every time.
The two kit types
XL Trolley Kits — full backdrops on wheels
XL Trolley Kits are complete backdrop systems for trade shows, weddings, stage, and corporate events. They cover roughly 10 to 16 ft tall by 11 ft wide per kit and ship on a steel rolling trolley that holds the base plates, pins, uprights, drape supports, and drape — so the whole kit rolls into the venue and rolls back out. We call it the smartest pipe and drape on wheels.
FOH Kits — camera surrounds & front-of-house
FOH Kits are compact front-of-house drape kits, commonly used as camera surrounds for broadcast, AV, and live production. They run smaller (around 4 to 6 ft) and ship in an ATA flight case built for touring and rental use.

- 10 ft — standard trade-show and event backdrops
- 12–14 ft — taller booths, ceremony backdrops, room dividers
- 16 ft — full-height stage backdrops and large ballrooms

Choosing your drape color and finish
Kits come with premium 260 g/m² Velvet Napoli drape in eight colors — black for blackout and stage, white for projection and weddings, plus reds, blues, and grey neutrals. Pleated drape reads fuller and more formal; flat is clean and economical. Browse all colors on the Drapes & Curtains page.
Kit or build your own?
A kit wins when you want a guaranteed-compatible, travel-ready setup with no parts-list math — most buyers, most of the time. Building your own from the hardware range makes sense when you need a non-standard size, are expanding an existing system, or want to mix components. Either way, every part is the same authentic WENTEX system, so kits and à-la-carte parts work together.
