How the estimate works
Pipe & drape is modular: vertical uprights stand in weighted bases, and adjustable crossbars span between them to carry the drape panels. We divide your length into bays no wider than your chosen max span, then add one upright to close each run.
- Bays = length ÷ max span (rounded up), per run
- Uprights = bays + one per run · Bases = one per upright
- Crossbars = one per bay · Drape panels = bays × your drape-look factor
Frequently asked
How many baseplates do I need? One per upright — the calculator returns this as "bases." For taller setups or outdoor/where bumped, add rubber base weights for extra stability.
What height drape should I order? Order a drape height equal to or just above your backdrop height, then fine-tune with the upright. Round up to the next stocked height.
Can I expand later? Yes — every system is modular, so you can add bays (one crossbar + one upright + base each) as your events grow.
