Eurotrack Curtain Track: The Complete Guide to Ceiling-Mount Drape Systems

Eurotrack is the ceiling-mounted curtain-track system that moves drape where freestanding pipe and drape can't. When a venue needs curtains that open, close, and stay put — a broadcast studio cyc, a conference-room divider, a ballroom stage, a house-of-worship backdrop — Eurotrack is the professional answer. This guide covers what it is, the parts, how to plan an install, and how it differs from pipe and drape.

What is Eurotrack?

Eurotrack is a heavy-duty aluminum curtain track that mounts to a ceiling or wall and carries drape on smooth-rolling carriers. Rail sections connect into one continuous run of almost any length, so a single track can span a stage, wrap a studio, or divide a hall. The drape glides by hand or with an optional rope (cord) system for precise, repeatable movement. Unlike freestanding pipe and drape, Eurotrack is a permanent or semi-permanent install — fixed to the structure, always ready, and out of the way.

The parts of a Eurotrack system

  • Track rails & lengths — straight rail sections plus overlap arms and connection strips that splice rails into long, continuous runs.
  • Carriers & wheels — the runners that ride inside the rail and hold the drape. Choose from standard 2-wheel carriers up to heavy-duty 4+4-wheel runners for heavy velour, plus pulleys and return wheels for rope-operated tracks.
  • Mounting & wall hardware — ceiling mounts, wall brackets (100–300 mm), and mounting plates that anchor the track to any structure.
  • Operation — end stops cap the rail, and an optional pulley-and-rope system lets you draw the curtain from one side without touching the fabric.

How Eurotrack works

Rail sections mount to the ceiling (or to a wall via brackets) and join end-to-end with connection strips into a continuous track. Carriers load into the rail, the drape hangs from the carriers, and end stops keep the runners from rolling off. From there you either hand-draw the curtain or operate it with a rope system: a cord runs through pulleys at each end and a master carrier, so a single pull opens or closes the whole run smoothly and repeatably — the way theatrical and studio drapes have worked for decades.

Eurotrack vs. pipe and drape: which do you need?

They solve different problems:

  • Choose Eurotrack when the install is permanent, the drape needs to open and close, and you can mount to a ceiling or wall — studios, conference rooms, ballrooms, fixed stages.
  • Choose pipe and drape when you need a freestanding, temporary backdrop that travels and sets up without touching the building — trade shows, weddings, touring stages.

Many venues use both. For the freestanding side, see our Complete Guide to Pipe & Drape.

Where Eurotrack is used

  • Broadcast & photo studios — cyc curtains, backdrop changes, set masking.
  • Conference rooms & corporate — divider curtains that disappear when not needed.
  • Ballrooms & hotels — stage masking and room sectioning.
  • Houses of worship & theatres — stage drapes, legs, and travelers.
  • Schools & multipurpose rooms — durable, daily-use curtain dividers.

Planning a Eurotrack install

  1. Measure the run. The total length of track you need; rails join with connection strips, so length is flexible.
  2. Pick ceiling or wall mounting. Ceiling mounts drop the track from above; wall brackets (100–300 mm) stand it off a wall.
  3. Match carriers to drape weight. Light to mid drape runs on 2-wheel carriers; heavy velour wants 4+4 heavy-duty runners.
  4. Decide hand-draw or rope. Add a pulley-and-rope system if you want one-side operation.
  5. Hang the drape. Use compatible curtains — flame-retardant Velvet Napoli or MGS.

Frequently asked questions

What is Eurotrack used for?

Ceiling- or wall-mounted curtain track for permanent and semi-permanent installs — studios, conference rooms, ballrooms, theatres, and houses of worship — anywhere drape needs to open and close.

Can Eurotrack be operated by rope?

Yes. Hand-draw is standard; an optional pulley-and-rope (cord) system lets you open and close the full run from one side.

How long can a Eurotrack run be?

Rail sections connect with connection strips into continuous runs, so length is effectively limited only by your structure and support spacing.

What drape works with Eurotrack?

Any flame-retardant event drape on compatible carriers — our Velvet Napoli and MGS curtains are commonly used. Match the carrier type to the drape weight.

Is Eurotrack the same as pipe and drape?

No. Eurotrack is a fixed, ceiling-mounted track for curtains that move. Pipe and drape is a freestanding, temporary backdrop system. They are often used together in the same venue.
